Hibiscus Flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa)

Hibiscus sabdariffa — also known as roselle — is a member of the mallow family (Malvaceae), celebrated for its striking, deep-red blooms. Native to tropical regions and cultivated across much of the world, hibiscus is one of nature's most vibrant botanicals, both in color and flavor. With over 220 species in the genus, hibiscus thrives in warm climates, though most tropical varieties cannot tolerate prolonged freezing temperatures.

Our hibiscus flower is organically cultivated and beautifully suited for herbal tea blends, handcrafted syrups, and natural fabric dyeing.

In the Cup

Hibiscus is the star ingredient in some of the world's most beloved herbal drinks. Its brew is a brilliant ruby red with a bold, tart flavor that's as refreshing as it is distinctive — equally enjoyable hot or over ice. Because of its natural tartness, it pairs wonderfully with a touch of honey or other natural sweeteners.

Perhaps its most famous preparation is Agua de Jamaica, a chilled, sweetened hibiscus tea widely enjoyed throughout Mexico and Latin America. Similar traditions exist across North Africa, where hibiscus tea is a cultural staple. Its versatility and crowd-pleasing flavor make it a natural addition to custom herbal blends and creative beverage recipes.

Precautions: Hibiscus flowers are often intercropped with peanuts, and occasional fragments of peanut shell may be present. Those with severe peanut allergies should exercise caution. We recommend consulting a qualified healthcare practitioner before using herbal products, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or taking medications.
